Porsche introduced the 928 in 1977 at the Geneva Motor Show. It represented the first front engine V-8 Grand Tourer offered by the brand. For a first GT car it was a truly impressive engineering feat, Porsche successfully implemented their first V-8 engine in a production car and still managed to achieve a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. While Porsche’s initial plan for the 928 was for it to be the successor to the 911, plans were scrapped when it was determined the 928 didn’t cannibalize on 911 sales but rather attracted new buyers. The 928 was a wildly successful car, remaining in production through the 1995 model year.

This 1986 Porsche 928S is presented in black featuring a sunroof and spoiler. The car is powered by a V-8 engine which is paired to an automatic transmission. The interior is completed in black leather and features air conditioning and an aftermarket Panasonic radio unit with CD. According to the 928 Owner’s Club, Porsche produced 4,881 examples of the 928S in 1986.
