This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Sport Coupe was assembled in Kansas City, Missouri and delivered new to Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona. Under the hood is a 396 cubic inch, 375 horsepower Turbo Jet V-8 engine that is matched to a four-speed, close ratio, manual transmission. From the factory the car was equipped with a Posi-traction rear differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio. This Chevelle has vacuum assisted brakes, front disc brakes and power steering. Also unique to this car is the factory air shocks and optional headrests.
The exterior of the Chevelle is finished with Madeira Maroon paintwork and factory wheels wrapped with redline tires. The interior is finished with red vinyl trim, strato bucket seats, deluxe seatbelts, faux wood steering wheel, center console with clock, dash-mounted tachometer, remote controlled mirror and an 8-track radio with a manual antenna.
The Chevelle finished its frame-on restoration in 2015. Since completion the car has only been driven 20 miles. Also after it was completed, it was featured on the cover of “Chevelle SS - A Muscle Car Source Book.” Included with this piece of American Muscle history is a copy of the original build sheet.
