In period, it was written that “Few things in life match the thrill of a squall line of thundering Camaro IROC racers – locked in a 12-car draft diving down the high banks….tachs pulsating near redline, strong leg muscles pushing throttles to floorboards, all attempting to defy the laws of physics by trying to occupy the same place at the same time.”

It was enough to overwhelm anyone who likes cars, and it was the formation of an idea within Chevrolet engineering to build a street-legal version of the Camaro built in the spirit of the cars provided to run in the International Race of Champions. It was to be an automobile of truly heroic capabilities. Among the features were extended ground effects rocker panels, a special performance-based suspension system, 16-inch alloy wheels, spoilers front and rear and model-specific badging.

This particular example is presented in Black with gray cloth interior and T-tops. The IROC is presented in original condition and is dignified by having less than 10,000 actual miles. The IROC runs with a 305-cid, 190-hp Tuned Port Injection V-8 engine that is paired with a console-shift four-speed automatic transmission. This is a well-equipped example that has many desirable comfort features that includes air conditioning, Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo with equalizer, cruise control, intermittent wipers, tilt steering wheel, remote rear hatch release, IROC-Z badging, GM T-top bags; power windows, door locks, driver’s seat, steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The Camaro is accompanied by the original owner’s manual and associated paperwork from the factory.
