The big news in 1962 for the Plymouth Fury was the “Forward Flair Design” – a new concept from corporate. It is evident in the Plymouth’s poised look of power and purpose, plus its overall re-proportioned body.

This muscular Cherry Red example has a matching interior and is set apart in having the 361-cid, 305-hp Golden Commando V-8 engine that is matched to a pushbutton automatic transmission. The car is rather spartan in its accessory offerings, suggesting that the platform was primarily for going quickly in a stoplight to stoplight fashion. Power steering, blackwall tires and color-coded steel wheels with “dog dish” center caps complete the package.

Plymouth proclaimed no car in its price point could match ithe Fury's beauty, luxury and excitement factor.
