The C-Type Jaguar was based on the famous XK120 model, which was the fastest production car at the time, with a top speed of approximately 120-mph. While the C-Type Jaguar was widely popular; only 53 would be produced between 1951 and 1953.
The Proteus C-Type is advertised as a “modern evolution of a racing legend, designed and built by advanced automotive engineers with a passion for high performance driving.” Proteus replicas are hand built to customer specifications.
This Jaguar C-Type replica is finished fashionably in green, with 72-spoke knock-off wire wheels and a windscreen that extends to the doors for extra protection. Under the bonnet is a DOHC inline six-cylinder engine, fueled by dual carburetors and connected to a manual transmission. The interior is fitted with green buck seats, carpet, rear view mirror and a wooden steering wheel.
