The performance-oriented Ford Talladega is based on the Ford Torino Cobra two-door SportsRoof. According to Ford advertising of the period, "Heading the pack to the Performance Corner in your dealership is the exotic new aerodynamic-design Torino Talladega...an exciting development of the 1968 NASCAR and USAC Champion Torino. The Talladega's aerodynamic design features, developed after extensive high-speed wind tunnel and track testing, improve performance during high-speed operation by reducing drag and front end lift."

Included in the impressive lineup of factory standard features on this striking and race-oriented Wimbledon White Talladega is a 428-cid, 335-hp Cobra Jet engine that is mated to a SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. This model was only offered in three color choices; Presidential Blue and Royal Maroon joined Wimbledon White as the selections. Non-gloss “racing black” is featured on the pin-locked hood and the rear valance displays this same color feature. This particular car has been restored and is appealing in all manners.

Further standards on the Talladega consists of black cloth and vinyl interior, engine oil cooler, extra-cooling package, 55-ampere alternator, heavy-duty battery, power steering, power front disc brakes, Argent styled steel wheels with chrome trim rings, competition suspension with ultra-heavy-duty front and rear springs and shock absorbers, extra-heavy-duty stabilizer bar, staggered rear shock absorber arrangement, special aerodynamic-design grille, hood, fender and front bumper layout, AM radio, 3.25:1 ratio non-locking rear axle and special Talladega badging on select locations on both the exterior and interior. Dual rear view sport mirrors and Firestone Wide Oval tires are also part of this quite uncommon and exciting Ford performance offering. The Talladega is further enhanced by representing a limited production car with only 754 examples built.
