Designed for beauty and ready for duty were terms used by Mercury to market the woodie-type station wagon of the early 1950s. Finished in India Black with a vibrant black and turquoise colored interior, the smooth-flowing lines of the Monterey Station Wagon is readily identified by its simulated wood-grain rear and side panels. The exterior is further detailed with a windshield visor, fender skirts, wide whitewall tires and factory wheel covers. The engine is a 255.4-cid, 125-hp L-head V-8 with a three-speed with overdrive manual transmission. The Mercury has a 12-volt electrical system; further equipment on this nicely presented “woodie” includes a folding, split rear seat, heater, clock and AM/FM/cassette player.
