“You would have to look far and pay high for a sportier car than this new Ford Convertible…or for a more sensible sport car.” Ford’s words of belief in their 1941 model are well-illustrated in this splendid Sable Black over tan cord and maroon interior example that has received a full restoration and remains well-preserved. The power convertible top is tan Haartz canvas with its correct back window, and the top boot is black with red piping. The Ford is powered by the famous flathead 221-cid, 90-hp V-8 engine that is connected to a three-speed column-shift manual transmission and is reported to “drive effortlessly.” The interior also displays a dash-mounted compass, AM radio, center-mounted antenna, clock and heater. The red steel wheels with factory caps, beauty rings and whitewall tires are a perfect complement to this very fine overall presentation of a quite uncommon pre-war Ford.
