This is a nice Series 40 Buick Special four-door that is driven by a Dynaflash 248-cid, 107-hp inline eight-cylinder engine and coupled to a column-shift three-speed manual transmission. The Buick received a restyling for 1940 that resulted in an enclosed nose and wider grille. This car has a 128-inch wheelbase.
The Sable Black finish is set off nicely by the excellent and distinctive chrome grille and brightwork trim elements, along with a new two-tone maroon and gray interior theme. The dashboard and steering wheel are stylish with an electric clock; red steel wheels with factory wheel covers, whitewall tires, dual mirrors, amber foglights and front bumper guards are additional features found on this 1940 Buick Special which is stated to “run great.”
