Rolls-Royce introduced the Silver Spirit/Spur in 1980 as a replacement for the venerable Silver Shadow which had been in production since 1965. The new car featured a 6.75-litre V-8 and a GM THM-400 three-speed automatic transmission along with Girling-supplied automatic ride control. In classic Rolls-Royce tradition, horsepower was never quoted and was simply referred to as adequate. The Mark I model remained in production until it was superseded by the Mark II version in 1989. This stately Spur wears a two-tone silver and blue exterior with blue Everflex top over blue hides with contrasting piping. It is equipped with a full complement of power accessories as would be expected including an AM/FM/cassette stereo radio.
