Marketed as “America’s all-time favorite convertible,” the Galaxie 500 Sunliner is a long, low and beautifully styled platform that is still a favorite. This car is a real head turner, finished in festive Rangoon Red with a striking red interior that is new. The soft-top is white and power-operated and folds neatly under a color-keyed boot. The Sunliner is powered by a 352-cid, 220-hp V-8 engine with dual exhaust, four-barrel carburetor and mated to an automatic transmission. Other features on the Ford consist of period-correct under-the-dash air conditioning, power steering, upgraded power brakes with front discs, upgraded cooling, rebuilt front suspension, replaced AM/FM radio, dual mirrors, chrome wire wheels, wide whitewall tires and more. The Ford is nicely presented throughout with what is reported as a “show car restoration” that will run reliably for excursions either long or short.
