MODEL 48. 85 bhp, 221 cu.in. L-head V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112"

The 1935 Roadsters are among the rarest body styles for that year and superb survivors are few and far between. Purchased by the Dingman Collection in 2003, this 1935 Ford Deluxe Roadster was a New Hampshire car that was given a full restoration by the highly respected Jim Lowrey, at a cost of some $120,000. Finished in Vineyard Green with Apple Green stripe and wheels, the car remains in excellent, virtually showroom-fresh, condition. The paint has a deep shine, the body contours are perfect, and the doors shut properly. The front seat and rumble seat are upholstered in brown leather, all of which shows no perceptible wear. The dashboard is exceptional, and in addition to the requisite round instruments, it is fitted with the control head for an authentic Ford accessory radio, located on the inside of the firewall above the driver’s feet. The steering wheel, the correct banjo type, is nicely restored.

The external horns, the last year that Ford would offer them, stand proud on the front fenders, nicely counterbalancing the accessory greyhound mascot on the radiator grille. All the brightwork is in excellent condition, and the grey-brown canvas top looks fresh and fits well.

The engine compartment is very nicely presented and correctly detailed throughout. Underneath, the frame and underbody are painted gloss black and are of the same virtually flawless caliber. Firestone 6.00x16 tires are mounted on the wire-spoke wheels, while the rear-mounted matching spare has a metal cover in body color.

Like all cars in the Dingman Collection, it has been meticulously maintained to retain its superb condition. One of 4,896 Deluxe Roadsters built for the model year, this car is at once very rare and stunningly presented.
