The FJ43 is practically the same vehicle as the much-loved FJ40. The FJ43 introduced more ways to configure your FJ along with a longer wheelbase and more space in the rear area for either cargo or passengers. The facing rear seats fold up to maximize the cargo room. The FJ43’s final year of availability was in 1984.

Reported as being a solid, one owner FJ in excellent condition before restoration; this hardtop FJ43 has been beautifully restored by FJ Legends and is poised to pass on many happy driving times to the next owner. It was originally purchased by an agricultural executive that utilized the Toyota as a family vehicle. It has been fully repainted in its original code 309 Freeborn Red and along with factory specifications, it has many upgrades applied that includes front disc brakes, new tires and new air conditioning for additional driving comfort.

This FJ43 is stated by the owner to run with its original drivetrain which, along with the legendary four-wheel drive, consists of the Type F 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission. The chassis and corresponding components were professionally repainted, while the engine, differentials and transmission have been extensively inspected and serviced as needed with new seals and factory Toyota parts. The engine has a new carburetor, the front disc / rear drum brakes have been rebuilt and all electrical components were inspected and replaced with new connections and wiring as needed. The hardtop is said to be one of the last built in Colombia.

The interior has been reupholstered in a pleasing shade of brown that has replicated the original specifications. The instruments and switches are either restored or new, as is every emblem, headlight and signal light. Familiar traits include power brakes, a rear-mounted spare, jack, and a Pioneer sound unit.

Toyota’s four-wheel drive FJ series is a reflection of the superior quality and value that have been well established over the years. They strive to make your driving experience better, easier, more convenient, and more fun. Don’t just meet your expectations – exceed them.
