Jaguar introduced the E-Type Series III in 1971. Carrying on the tradition of the Series I and II, this iconic car was one of the premier British sports car offerings of the time period. The E-Type was available in either a 2+2 coupe or roadster body style. New to the E-Type for the Series III was a V-12 engine, originally developed for Le Mans. Period testing rated the engine at 272-hp, capable of a sub seven second 0 to 60-mph time, very impressive for the time period. The Jaguar E-Type Series III was produced through 1974, over which time 7,990 examples were produced. It was replaced in the Jaguar lineup by the XJS.
This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster is presented in burgundy with a black convertible soft-top. The car is powered by a V-12 engine which is paired to a four-speed manual transmission. The vehicle rides on wire wheels and is slowed to a stop via four-wheel disc brakes. The interior of the E-Type features bucket seats, wood steering wheel, air conditioning as well as a Kenwood AM/FM radio with cassette. Included with the car is a jack and boot cover. This is reported to be a California car since new and the drivetrain is reported to be original to the car.
