This 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 was built by famed Porsche builder Akira Nakai of RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB). Nakai built it at his Los Angeles RWB location from June 3 to 6, 2016. Each of Nakai’s custom Porsche builds receives a unique name and in Grand Prix White, is referred to as “Baymax.”

Nakai started RWB in a countryside body shop in Chiba-Ken Japan and over the years, he has become well known for building some of the most radical looking Porsches on the street. Nakai has more recently begun traveling the world building cars and set up a location in Los Angeles. Nakai will only build one car per customer and still hand builds each one. The massive fender flares, fat tires, huge wings, and low front give RWB cars a distinctive look that is entirely their own.

This 911 is powered by a 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder engine, which is paired to a manual transmission. It features Nakai’s hand-crafted and installed custom RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF 993 super wide body along with Rotana front extended carnards, street-style front bumper with foglight insert and air duct, a Kamiwaza (double-deck wing) as well as “RWB” and “Zweite Entwicklung” (second development) displayed on the rear of the car under the wing. The 911 utilizes a Bilstein RS-Pro coilover system riding on Toyo R888 tires (Front 265/35/18 Rear 335/30/18) mounted on Rotiform custom YVR three-piece forged wheels (Front 18x11 Rear 18x13.5). Like other RWB cars, “Idlers” is painted on the tires paying homage to a car club in Japan which Nakai is known to participate in. Braking is completed by new Porsche front and rear brake pads and cross-drilled rotors.

The interior of this 911 is Bordeaux red and features a radio with a CD player, air conditioning, a RWB Los Angeles rollbar (race version for 993), RS lightweight carpet and Rennline floorboards for the driver and passengers. Interior seating features two Recaro Alcantara seats which the Porsche logo on the headrest. The steering wheel is a Momo Magnus Walker limited edition with a Momo steering wheel hub and a 997 GT3 Cup car steering wheel quick release. Power equipment on the car includes power windows and brakes. The car retains its Porsche security system.

Nakai’s RWB creations are truly head turning pieces of rolling art. This 911, the “Baymax,” is no expectation and is an excellent opportunity to own a rare one-off-built RWB car, built by Nakai.
