The Ferrari 308 was a replacement for the successful 246 Dino line. It sported a Pininfarina-styled body that was available in only a GTB coupe early on; in 1977, Ferrari introduced the GTS model. The “S” signifying Spider, in this case in a targa top form. Its iconic wedge-shaped body lines were designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who famously penned the 365 GTB/4 Daytona and 246 Dino. It quickly won over many enthusiasts for both its looks and performance. Often associated with the TV show Magnum, P.I., as the 308 GTS played a starring role in the series, capturing the hearts of many as it chased down criminals on the islands of Hawaii with actor Tom Selleck behind the wheel.

Ferrari went on to produce fuel-injected 308’s making the GTSi, GTBi available starting in 1980, and the Quatrovolve, in 1983. Total production numbers for all variation were 12,149 in a span of ten years, 1975 to 1985. The 308 GTS proved to be the more popular variant of the 308 model, with a total of 3,219 examples manufactured.

The Ferrari 308 GTS presented here is displayed in the highly sought after color of Fly Yellow. The lovely yellow exterior is complimented by a black interior that is accompanied by power windows, a radio and air conditioning. The car is powered by a 3.0-liter V-8 engine that receives its fuel from carburetion; and power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

This Ferrari has participated in Ferrari Club of America events and has received two awards which include “Platinum” First Place and a Gold award. The books and tool roll are also included with the vehicle.
