Under the hood-mounted four-point star, which would later become the Lincoln emblem, rested a 300 horsepower, 368-cid V-8 and a Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. Predominantly handmade, the Mark II was a product of exceptional craftsmanship. Only the very finest materials were used throughout and the instrumentation displayed the precision of a finely crafted watch. Only 444 were built in 1957 at a cost of nearly $10,000.
This example has been repainted, partially re-chromed, plus the entire interior has been redone. The engine has been meticulously maintained and starts effortlessly. The starter and generator have been rebuilt. Additionally, service has included the carburetor overhaul, timing set, new igniter, replaced original belts, new fuel tank hoses, cleaned fuel tank, radiator overhaul, water pump overhaul, new vent hoses, new fuel filler hose, radiator cap replace, new transmission seal kit and new vacuum lines. This is one of the uncommon examples air conditioned from new; the system has been removed, but the components accompany the car.
Since the belt that was replaced was original and the brake pads appear to be original and with almost no wear, it the consignor’s mechanic and restorers best assumption that the 35,000 miles shown are the actual.
