A highly respected AMC restorer and enthusiast completed this car to an outstanding level of cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The intricate details were not overlooked; the proper trunk mat, space saver tire, air-inflation canister and even the rare “ram air” components are intact under the hood.

The 360 “wide web” unmarked factory engine was fully rebuilt to the stock configuration except for a competition 268H camshaft and valve train with complete “K” kit, resulting in an incredibly high torque curve from 2,200- to-5,000-rpm. It has the correct 391C “dogleg” heads, offering superior exhaust ports and studded rocker arm mounts; these were original equipment. The design is a product of the factory Trans Am racing effort in the late 1960s.

All production Mark Donohue Signature Edition Javelins were based on fully-optioned SST models and featured a functional ram air hood and a rear spoiler. The console floor-shifter and a fully trimmed bucket seat interior was standard. AMC did not specifically identify the special editions through the use of the VIN, door tag or body tag. However, it is believed that 2,501 of these special editions were manufactured.

This Mark Donohue signature edition Javelin is stable, agile and incredibly fast, it has competed in the Muscle Car 1000 road rally and “finished with flying colors.” It has been invited and shown at various Concours d’Elegance events in the Southern California area, including the Palos Verdes Concours at the Trump golf course, Los Angeles Concours at the Rose Bowl and the Muckenthaler Concours. Also, this vehicle has won first and second-in-class trophies at west coast AMC shows at the Hot Rod Museum in Pomona, California.

The original build sheet and paperwork dating back to 1972, is included with the purchase of the car.
