This Cadillac was purchased from a Southern California owner’s estate with what is believed to be 42,886 original miles; but these miles are undocumented. The California owner purchased the car in 2003 from a reported collector and longtime owner. The floorboards and trunk that are usually prone to rust, are said to be very solid and rust-free.
The Cadillac has been repainted in the factory order Black (Code 10) and is contrasted with an original Light Red (Trim Code 19) leather interior that shows a very lovely patina, along with the dashboard and door panels. The convertible top has been replaced with the correct Black (Code 2) color. The Cadillac is rolling on chrome #40 Cadillac Sabre-Spoke wheels, a very desirable feature that was standard on Eldorado models from 1955 to 1958. Also included is the original Sabre-Spoke spare wheel and jack, all of which reside in the trunk.
This Eldorado is powered by a 365-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine that is fueled by a standard four-barrel carburetor. The current owner reports that this engine is original to this Cadillac. The car is finished with many desirable options that include: power steering, brakes, windows and convertible top; rear air vents, Autronic-Eye, leather seats with colored key carpets, signal seeking radio, dual back-up lights, power trunk release, six-way power driver seat, parade boot with the original zipper storage bag and an automatic heater/ ventilation system and defroster.
This convertible has the original 1957 owner’s manual, receiving tag, Autronic and electric clock instruction tags, and most of the cars original factory stickers are still intact and present on the AC crankcase breather, windshield washer unit, air cleaner and many others are present also.
A recent service has been carried out on the Cadillac. The following parts have been replaced to ensure driver satisfaction: new belts, heater hoses, wheel bearings, front brake hoses, all-new wheel cylinders, master cylinder rebuilt, new left muffler and the left exhaust manifold was repaired.
The owner states that this car runs fantastic, straight as an arrow with a smooth shifting transmission. The owner further reports that all of the options work as they should. The car is presented in immaculate condition from the brightwork, to the very clean engine bay and undercarriage. This rolling time warp is a great representation of the ever desirable, one of 1,800 built, Cadillac Biarritz Convertible.
