The XK 120 made its début at the Earl’s Court Motor Show in 1948, creating nothing short of a sensation in the automotive world. Originally conceived as a low-volume car rather than a serious production vehicle, it was destined to become a formidable competitor and one of the most celebrated sports cars of all time. A total of 12,055 XK 120s were produced from 1948 to 1954.
Presented with elegant curves form the work of Sir Williams Lyons; the XK 120 model name suggesting a 120-mph top speed. Powered by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine with 160-hp, the XK was the fastest production car in the world.
Being the recipient of an older restoration, this drophead coupe is nicely presented in triple black with recently refurbished leather and wood interior with a Wilton Wool headliner. In the interior is beautiful Smiths MA instrumentation. Along with the black exterior the car rides on steel wheels that have wide whitewall tires with black center caps, fender skirts and dual fender-mounted mirrors. Included with the car is a spare tire jack, top boot cover, while the original radio is in the trunk.
