Oldsmobile’s Rocket V-8 made headlines at its introduction for 1949, so much so that most people have forgotten Olds’s early V-8s, the Models 44, 45, 46 and 47, built from 1916 to 1923. This car is an excellent example.
With an L-head engine of 246-cid, the Model 45 BT developed 58-hp and had a 122-inch wheelbase. It is an older restoration, but presents very well. The body is painted green and exhibits a deep shine; the fenders are black and the car has a black naugahyde top. The upholstery is black pleated leather, in very good condition. Jump seats fold out of the floor, providing seats for seven. Included is a facsimile copy of the car’s Instruction Book.
A handsome example of Oldsmobile’s forgotten past; this car is large enough to entertain the whole family.
