General Motors’ intermediate musclecar convertibles get so much attention that many people forget that “The General” made some pretty spectacular full-size drop-tops. This certainly is one of them.
Imposing in triple-black, it was, the Toronado apart, the most expensive 1969 Oldsmobile and the rarest of the full-size models. It has the hallmarks of a body-off restoration, the only flaw manifesting itself being a tiny ding to the hood. The upholstery is excellent vinyl with matching carpet, black vinyl top and matching boot.
Equipment includes cruise control, air conditioning, windshield washers tilt steering column; power steering, brakes and windows. The original factory signal-seeking AM/FM radio is in place, unobtrusively supplemented by a modern Pioneer AM/FM/cassette in the glovebox.
This is the ideal car for the remainder of summer cruising.
