Showing off in Highland Green, this Shelby GT 500 has received an incredible rotisserie restoration that was professionally executed in a nut-and-bolt fashion approximately five years ago. The car’s third owner has a classic car business that performed the no-expense-spared concours-quality work to original specifications, in which all nuances and details were considered in this comprehensive process. All of the labor is said to have been finished in a manner consistent with factory practices, right down to the finishes, hardware and fasteners used. This has resulted in a car that has an undercarriage that is as fresh and precise as the exterior. All mechanical and cosmetic elements are said to have received this extremely high level of attention. For a total breakdown of the exhaustive list of work performed, please feel free to contact our attending Specialist.

Accompanied by a Deluxe Marti Report and a copy of its window sticker from Dick Bohn Ford, Inc. in Gretna, Louisiana; the Shelby is reported to run with its correct drivetrain in the form of the 428-cid Police Interceptor V-8 engine that is matched to a “big servo” C6 automatic transmission and the standard ratio 3.50:1 Traction-Lok rear end. The project started around a very solid, rust-free, original panel car that displayed 47,000 miles and those are believed to be correct. The fiberglass elements are also thought to be original to the car, and it similarly has a clean ownership/accident-free history and is found in the Shelby American World Registry.

Finished in its correct R-code Highland Green with trim tag correct black Décor Group interior and trim tag correct white power convertible top with glass backlite; this machine is well-equipped and sports desirable features such as Visibility Group, Extra Cooling Package, Ford AM/FM stereo radio, date correct E70 Goodyear Speedway 350 spare tire, 10-spoke Shelby cast alloy wheels; power steering and disc brakes. Only 402 Shelby GT 500 Convertibles were built in 1968; this is arguably one of the finest available.
