Load up for an adventure in this beautiful and spacious wagon that has room for nine passengers. Like A-body Chevrolets, which Pontiac shared some of the same body components; the 1955 Pontiacs were all new, including frames and bodies. In 1957, Pontiac started using the Safari name on all station wagons. In previous years the name was reserved for the sporty two-door hardtop wagons. A Transcontinental model siginifies the four-door wagon with high-end Star Chief components and trim; released mid-way through the 1957 model run. Despite being on the market for the last half of the 1957 model year, fewer than 2,000 four-door Transcontinental wagons were sold, although they outsold their two-door counterparts.

This car received an older frame-off restoration and is reported to be part of the “57 Heaven Collection.” The engine is a 347-cid V-8 backed by a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and is equipped with power steering and brakes. The exterior is painted in a two-tone blue and white. Chrome roof-rack, bumpers and grille bring attention to this beautiful wagon. The spacious interior color matches the two-tone exterior with blue and white. A unique option on the interior is, the passenger seat has a headrest and is also a reclining seat. The back seats fold down for more storage room. Performance for this vehicle was best in its class and is still able to keep up with modern traffic today; all these qualities make it a fun and rewarding car to own.
