The Goggomobil was built by Hans Glas, GmbH, at Dingolfing, Germany. A coupe model with a more streamlined roof line was also available. Almost 220,000 sedans and more than 66,000 coupes were built through 1969, although few found their way to the United States.
This coupe is equipped with a 250-cc two-cylinder engine married to a four-speed manual transmission, a more desirable option than the sometimes problematic automatic transmissions. Suspension was independent all around, with coil springs and swing axles. The car is said to be all original except for one exterior repaint. The cars mechanical systems were gone over a few years ago, and it has a new Bakelite battery. The owner reports the car to be a real nice driving vehicle.
