Alfa Romeo’s 2600 was the storied Italian marque’s flagship for much of the 1960s and succeeded the 2000 series. Debuted at Geneva in 1962, the 2600 remains particularly famous as the last Alfa model to be powered by a DOHC inline six. It was available with three body styles: the four-door Berlina with factory bodywork, the Bertone-bodied Sprint Coupe, and the gorgeous 2 + 2 Spider by Carrozzeria Touring. Produced through 1967, the model’s 2.6-liter powerplant featured dual-overhead camshafts and triple carburetors to deliver 165-hp. Never produced in large numbers, the 2600 delivered a wonderful blend of characteristically Italian design and spirited driving dynamics for its discerning buyers, with just 2,255 Spiders ultimately built.

This 1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider by Carrozzeria Touring is handsomely presented in a very elegant and refined black with red interior, the same color combination as when new. Only owned and driven 73,000 careful miles by two families since new and with the same family for the past 39 years. It is a very nice and correct car throughout, including the drivetrain, triple Solex carburetors, generator, 400-mm size tires, wheels, windshield and more. The body is straight and rust-free. It features new paint in 2000, rebuilt engine in 2005, new interior in 2010, new top in 2011 and new exhaust system in 2012. The Alfa was just serviced and drives very well.

As a true Italian thoroughbred capable of taking its lucky driver back in time to the great Grand Touring Alfas of the 1960s, this marvelous 2600 Spider will certainly provide a feast for the senses, both visually and viscerally, and represents incredible value compared to similar sports cars like the Maserati 3500 GT Vignale Spyder.
