This Jaguar D-Type Junior is a miniature replica of XKD505, winner of the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans. It has been in the consignor’s collection for 20 years and is constructed of a steel ladder chassis clothed in a fiberglass body. It is finished in the stunning shade of British Racing Green with matching green upholstery.
Power is provided by a single-cylinder Tecumseh 5.0-horsepower engine mated to a Tecumseh four-speed transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. The engine features an electric start, as well as a manual pull start. Stopping is handled by disc brakes. The interior features a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an engine-turned dash with authentic Jaeger gauges, as well as controls for working lights.
The car rests on tubeless radial tires mounted on 10-inch wheels at all four corners. Recently serviced by skilled mechanics, including the installation of a new battery, this Jaguar D-Type Junior would make a wonderful addition to any collection or the perfect gift for a young driver aspiring to race at Le Mans.
