In 1970 Pontiac introduced the second generation of the Firebird. For the 1976 model year, Pontiac celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Pontiac line commemorated this with a black and gold special edition. The popular second generation Firebird was produced through 1981.
This 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has been restored to its current excellent appearing state. It is presented in what appears to be factory code 36 Firethorn Red with the desirable glass T-tops option (storage bags included). Exterior features include the instantly recognizable bird hood decal and an induction scoop. The car is powered by a 400-cid V-8 engine which is paired to a four-speed manual transmission. The owner reports this car as one of only 5,424 examples with this engine and transmission combination. Power options on the car include windows, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in red with bucket seats, console, featuring a radio with eight-track player. Additionally there is air conditioning, tilt steering column and handsome factory engine turning detail on the dash fascia. The impressive visual presentation is furthered by the factory honeycomb alloy wheels. It’s reported the car retains all original body panels and PHS documentation is included with the vehicle. If you’ve read this far, you may be pretty serious about obtaining a Firebird Trans Am of your own and this example is deserving of the look.
