In 1970 Pontiac introduced the second generation of the Firebird. For the 1976 model year, Pontiac celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Pontiac line commemorated this with a black and gold special edition. The popular second generation Firebird was produced through 1981.

The owner reports this car as one of only 5,424 examples with this engine and transmission combination. Power options on the car include windows, steering and brakes.
