The Datsun 280ZX debuted in 1979 to rave reviews, winning Motor Trends Import Car of the Year award. It looked very similar to the previous model but featured a new chassis as well as a roomier interior that was much more luxurious compared to the outgoing model. Second generation production of the 280ZX ran through 1983.
