Chevrolet’s Camaro entered 1980 wearing a new grille with a lighter crosshatch pattern and a revised selection of engines, including the potent 350-cid (305-cid in California) that was found in the distinctive Z28 offering. The Z28 was easily considered to be the maximum Camaro for the 1980 model year. It was regarded as a very special machine for people dedicated to one thing; performance. Not only did they use a respected drivetrain, the chassis also utilizes a performance suspension that was designed specifically for the Z28 with thick sway bars, heavy-duty shocks and springs. Plus the car was one of the best-dressed on the street with its front air dam, rear spoiler, color-keyed Z28 wheels and graphics.

Reported as an excellent example; this second generation Camaro has experienced one repaint in its correct Code 11 White with contrasting Z28 stripe package and outstanding blue vinyl bucket seat interior. The Camaro is said to run with its correct drivetrain that includes the 350-cid, 190-hp V-8 four-barrel engine with working cowl induction hood and dual exhaust. This is paired to the console-shift automatic transmission. Further features include tilt steering wheel, tinted glass, aftermarket Sony AM/FM/CD stereo; power steering and brakes. The correct factory wheels are wrapped with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Reported as sparingly driven, this Z28 “runs and drives without hesitation.”

Even with over 45,000 Z28’s being built in 1980, the Camaro Z28’s of this era are seldom seen on the road today, as many were well-used throughout the years.
