For 1956, Ford reused the styling and bodies from the 1955 model year. The Fairlane was once again the top-of-the-line trim option offered from Ford. It was available with either a six- or an eight-cylinder engine, both of which gave customers seven different body styles to choose from. The second rarest of which was the V-8 Fairlane Crown Victoria, as Ford only produced 9,209 such examples in 1956.
This 1956 Ford Crown Victoria is presented in what appears to be, according to the cars data tag, its factory color combination of Meadowmist Green and Colonial White (paint code GE) with Light Green Vinyl & Medium Green Cloth (trim code C). Along with featuring a unique stainless tiara B-pillar trim; this color combination is also reported as being rather uncommon. Exterior features on the car include dual sideview mirrors, Continental kit, fender skirts, dual exhaust and a sweeping side molding that perfectly accents the Ford’s self-named “Crown.” The car rides on whitewall tires with factory wire wheel covers. The vehicle is powered by a 292-cid V-8 engine paired to a three-speed manual transmission. The interior displays front bench seats that are covered by a plastic protector, while the rear seat features a fold-down armrest. Along with a heater/defroster unit, the Crown Victoria has a period AM radio. Ford’s new “Lifeguard Design” safety features comprised dished steering wheels, improved door latches and breakaway rear view mirrors, while a padded dash and seatbelts remained optional.
