Of the 21,801 Corvettes produced for 1971, only 1,949 were optioned with the LT-1 350-cid V-8 that produced 330 horsepower. This unit has been rebuilt by CJ Racing Engines in 2014. During the process the original water pump was rebuilt, as was the original carburetor and original smog pump. It is also stated that there is a new pressure plate and throw-out bearing. The LT-1 engine has solid valve lifters, factory high performance camshaft, Holley four-barrel carb on an aluminum intake manifold, plus it is dressed up with aluminum finned valve covers and chromed air cleaner. This LT-1 Corvette also has the desirable M21 four-speed manual transmission with a Posi-traction rear end.
The car has been restored and is finished in its correct paint, Code 988 Steel Cities Gray, with its original black leather interior. Among the equipment, you will find the LT-1 hood with the correct pinstripe (no decal), T-tops that fit and align tightly, removable rear window, luggage rack, factory gauges with tach, tilt/telescopic wheel; power windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The spare tire is reported as having “never been down.” The Corvette LT-1 is accompanied by documentation, including the Protect-O-Plate. This car originally hailed from the southern part of the country and also has its original owner’s manual and original dealer invoice dated December 13, 1971.
Many say this engine option is the strongest factory small-block ever offered, this is a nice representation of a very special Corvette.
