Celebrating Lincoln’s sharp cutting edge of contemporary design; this Lincoln Continental Mark V remains in stunning condition having been sparingly driven since new. The Collector’s Series treatment cost nearly $8,000 on top of the already pricey luxurious Lincoln when new, bringing the MSRP to almost $22,000, about three times that of a regular Ford automobile. This example is maximum American opulence of the era. The 1979 Collector's Series Mark V had essentially the same equipment as the Diamond Jubilee Edition of 1978 and there were very few additional equipment options. Unique paint schemes, as well as Collector's Series script on the rear roof quarters, gave the Collector's Series unique touches. Unlike other Mark V models, these cars did not include opera windows.

Among the many standard features included in this flagship Lincoln are, a Landau vinyl top, Electronic AM/FM stereo search radio with cassette tape player, power locks, six-way power driver’s seat, power windows, cruise control, rear window deicer, air conditioning, cast aluminum turbine wheels, faux spare tire outline on the trunklid, whitewall tires and more. This one is all the more special by being equipped with a power sunroof. A very limited run of only 3,900 Collector’s Series Mark V Lincolns were produced in the Midnight Blue color, such as this one, which also has a plush blue interior with woodgrain accents. Gold vertical bars in the already distinctive grille are a tasteful accent that perfectly complements the gold pinstripes and selected badging. Today, they are difficult to find in any respectable condition and represent the finest and some of the most expensive American automobiles of the decade. This car is offered in excellent condition and is accompanied by the factory toolkit, leather-bound owner’s manual, umbrella and window sticker.
