Sports cars come and go. Most flare brightly for a moment; then fade away like a falling star. However; one has endured brilliantly, igniting vivid memories of the Sting Ray, the Mako Shark, the split window…Corvette; it’s a long term American standard, it’s as simple as that.

The new-for-1993 Commemorative 40th Anniversary Edition was amply equipped to become part of this respected history. It continued with the Corvette’s unrivaled tradition of cutting-edge technology with their most powerful small-block production V-8 engine ever, the 350-cid (5.7-liter), 300-hp LT1. There was also Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR), a six-speed manual transmission and directional asymmetric tires.

The American sports car, 40-years later, had at that time seen over one million sold in total. They still took your breath away if driven to their ever-developing limits.

Finished in Ruby Red with a Ruby Red interior, this 40th Anniversary Edition coupe is well-equipped with air conditioning, factory AM/FM radio with CD, removable glass roof section for a Targa-type open effect; power seats, door locks, windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes. This edition also displayed model-specific badging and interior logo embroidery.

According to normally reliable sources, there were a total of 15,898 Corvette coupes built in 1993. The total number of 40th Anniversary Editions was listed as 6,749, of which 4,706 are the coupe version, like this particular car. This example is stated to have less than 42,000 original miles.
