New bodywork was on display for the 1969 Buick LeSabre. The “custom” part of the car title was part of the Buick name and not this car being customized in any manner. The styling was more refined than the preceding year and not quite so “heavy” in appearance. It still displayed the trio of front fender Ventiports; while the interior was presented in a style that was a perfect reflection of the car’s good looks. It was a popular series of Buick with tens of thousands built in four body styles and two different trim levels. The convertible was only available in the 45400 Custom Series, and with the many built as sedans, four-door hardtops and two-door hardtops; only 3,620 examples were built in the convertible configuration like this car.

This platform offered a 350-cid, 230-hp V-8 engine as its standard, and that is the powerplant in this example with an automatic transmission. The blue exterior was redone around 14 years ago and the interior appears (from the photos) to be original. The owner notes that there is some undone stitching on the headrests, that a new top replacement kit has been installed along with a new hydraulic pump. Among the equipment, you will also find factory air conditioning components (which need attention, as the system currently is inoperable), what appears to be an original radio with the rear speaker plus an underdash, aftermarket CD player, remote driver’s side mirror, dual sideview mirrors, whitewall tires, factory wheel covers; power top, steering and brakes. Car cover, shop and owner’s manuals are also included.
