Buick produced the GS ‘California’ coupe from 1967 to 1969. According to the owner’s report; during the first year of production they could only be purchased through a California dealer, and it is said that only about 1,200 documented examples remain in existence today.
Built on the Skylark platform, this example benefits from a high-quality frame-off restoration and is finished in Gold with a black vinyl top and a black interior. It comes complete with a copy of the original title, as well as a set of California black plates. It was shown at the BCA National Meet in Danvers, Mass in 2011 where it won the Gold Senior Award. Shown again in 2014 it took its first AACA Junior and then it was shown again at Hershey where it got its Senior award as well. Equipped with the 340-cid V-8 engine that produces 260-hp, it is also equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission as well as a heater, AM radio, seatbelts, GS ‘California’ badging, bench seat, chrome plated sports wheels and redline tires.
