The Mustang convertible being offered was donated by a member and supported of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and used as part of a promotion during 2013 and is no longer needed. Consequently, the car is now being made available. It has been displayed at the AACA Museum, and driven and displayed at the 2013 Spring and Fall Carlisle events; the Ford Nationals at Carlisle, as well as numerous other venues within the Central Pennsylvania area. This Mustang is equipped with a 302-cid V-8 engine with an automatic transmission. It also features air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and a Pioneer AM/FM stereo with an integrated cassette player has replaced the original unit.

Although the vehicle starts and runs well, it has been part of a collection for the last few years; the buyer is advised that it may require some degree of re-commissioning before placing it into routine service.

Further information on the Mustang includes that the exterior of the vehicle is in good condition with bright, glossy red paint with no dents or scratches to detract from its appearance. The only exceptions are a blemish on the upper corner of the right rear taillight surround, and some paint chipping off the left side of the rear taillight panel. Likely this is the second time the car has been repainted red – but the data plate indicates the cars original color was Ivy Glow Metallic, a green tone. Chrome side trim and rear bumper are in excellent shape (front bumper is painted body color). The white top shows some wear, but overall presents well with no rips or tears. The rear window is clear and all window glass is in very good condition. The Ford comes with a very good, little used white boot cover. The pleated white vinyl interior is in overall good condition with a mixture of original, repainted/dyed and new upholstery, door panels and hardware. The dark brown carpet is in good condition, showing little wear. There is a split in the top of the dash pad and the passenger side door lock button is missing. In addition, the horn is inoperative. Inspection of the undercarriage shows obvious evidence of work performed to address rust, but the quality is suspect, as it appears that in some instances patches were put in place and simply covered with undercoating. In addition, some areas that were repaired are deteriorating. A portion of the frame rail on the driver’s side has evidence of rust, but does not appear to be rusted through. The bottom left section between rear wheel opening and rear bumper has bumps and surface rust showing. The left rear fenderwell is rusted through, and there are rust holes in the inner wheelwell bump-stop plate. The trunk interior appears to be in good shape. It contains an almost new spare tire that matches those that are on the vehicle, along with the original jack and lug wrench. The Mustang is equipped with four raised white letter P215/70R14 tires mounted on rally-style wheels. The tires have very good tread and appear almost new. The front end has all new tie-rod ends, ball joints, power steering box and wheel alignment.

In 2011, the 302-cid 2V engine was totally rebuilt and the following were also replaced: starter, fuel tank, sending unit, water pump and all ignition tune-up components. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly between all the gears. The cooling and air conditioning system was also flushed and checked, then a new condenser, dryer and high-pressure line to expansion block were replaced. All under-hood systems also appear in equally good operating condition. Here are some very minor mechanical issues; however, to which the new owner will want to direct his or her attention. There are a cracked engine air intake tube, transmission fluid leak from the floor-shifter area, loose shifter-housing bushing, leaking power steering pump and a cracked rubber brake hose.
