The coupe roadster offered here is recorded on its vehicle tag as having been delivered by the Fonda Motor Car Company of Connecticut on 9 August 1934, relatively late in Packard's Eleventh Series model year. Longstanding rumor has it that the first owner was Hollywood actress Arline Judge, who resided at the time in the Constitution State, as one of its most glamorous and flamboyant residents. Later, the car moved to Florida, where it was owned by Ray Galliford of Orlando, then through the hands of John Yanick of Branford, Connecticut, before its acquisition in 1983 by longtime Virginia enthusiast Robert Woolfitt.

Mr. Woolfitt exhibited the car for many years before having a fresh restoration completed between 1998 and 1999 by the noted LaVine Restorations of Nappanee, Indiana, in a rich deep red with a tan interior and cloth top, blackwall tires (a LaVine signature), and optional dual side-mounted spares. The car was shown extensively, including 2nd in Class at the Packard Opus at Warren, Ohio, in 1999, and a 100-point score a month later at the CCCA Michigan Grand Classic. All told, the Packard reportedly accumulated a remarkable 15 1st in Class awards and other prizes during its long and successful show career.

Requiring only minor freshening to show and present beautifully, this gorgeous Packard is a real showstopper - which may well have suited the lovely Ms. Judge.
