The Ferrari offered here is a remarkable example of the desirable first-series 330 GT 2+2. A European-delivery example, the car shows just 18,938 km, which are believed to be original. It was delivered new to official dealer Gustavo Lombardi in Naples, Italy. It arrived at the dealer as a Verde Brillante over Nero example. It was purchased by Mr. Cerciello of Naples, Italy. The second owner purchased the car in 1969, importing it to Georgia, where the car remained in his collection through 2006. During his ownership, the car took to the track at the 1981 Walter Mitty Challenge at Road Atlanta, the car retains a window sticker from the event. The car spent many years in storage before being brought back to service.

Having been mechanically freshened by the second owner, the consignor reports that additional work has been recently completed and that the car runs and drives perfectly. A newer correct-type exhaust system is currently in place. The original Weber carburetors have been rebuilt, and the braking system has been serviced, including a new master cylinder. Newer tires are fitted to the five Borrani wire wheels. Of particular interest is that, before replacement, the car wore Italian-made Firestone tires, which were not available in the U.S., making it likely that the car was on just its second set of tires from new. Recently, the car’s original bumpers were properly re-plated after repairing minor scuffing they received during the 1981 Mitty. The car has otherwise never been fully restored, and it retains its original chassis, engine, body, interior, and even the glass. Incredibly, the 330 GT has only seen three documented owners from new.

The 330 GT 2+2 remains one of Ferrari’s finest-ever four-passenger cars. It is powerful yet easy to drive around town, and its luxurious and comfortable interior make it a highly desirable long-distance touring car. This incredibly original example is a fantastic opportunity to own a numbers-matching Colombo V-12 Ferrari with fascinating history. It will make a superb partner on driving tours or an ideal candidate for a concours-winning restoration. Included in the sale is an owner’s manual, a service manual, a file of receipts and other documentation, the OEM spare tire, and the four fascinating Italian-made Firestone tires.
