The Triumph TR6 Trophy earned its name as a competitive off-road motorcycle. Riders like Bill Postel, Bud Ekins, and John Giles made this a popular choice for riders by winning the 1956 Big Bear Run (Open Class), the 1956 International Six Days Trials (750-cc class), and the 1956 Catalina Grand Prix (Open Class). In 1963 the Triumph TR6 made its big screen debut as Steve McQueen’s ride of choice in The Great Escape and it has been a collectible motorcycle ever since.
This TR6 Trophy sports custom paint, fork covers, and a full seat to make it more of highway rider than an off-road motorcycle but would be an easy swap back to the classic look. These early TR6 Trophy’s were not produced in high numbers and have become very desirable.
