Throughout the 1960s, BSA was a top contender in off-road scrambles, trials, and motocross racing competing in International Six Days Trials and FIM Motocross World Championships. The BSA C15 and B40 single-cylinder motorcycles were powerful and affordable, making them popular choices for privateers and professional motocross riders like Jeff Smith. In 1964 Jeff Smith rode a modified BSA C15S with a specialty bored out 441-cc engine to win the 500-cc world motocross championship. In 1965 he repeated his victory on the modified C15S marking the bike as the back-to-back FIM World Motocross Champion and the top motocross race bike. BSA saw a market in producing this winning combination and in 1966 began production of the now collectable BSA 441 Victor to commemorate this achievement.

This restored early round barrel Victor features a numbers-matching frame and engine. It shows very nicely, displaying 19 miles on the odometer. These 441 Victors are well known around the world and this example would make a great addition to any motorcycle collection.
