The Mercury of this era was famed for its riding and performance qualities and their continuing engineering advances that were put into each new model year to make the finest car (to date) to wear the Mercury name.

For the 1947 model year, the styling changes were slight. Among the noticeable details was placing the Mercury name on the hood sides, different style of hubcaps, the trim border around the grille was now chromed, more chrome was utilized in the interior and the dash gauges faces were redesigned. For the 1947 model year, approximately 10,200 convertible coupes were produced.

This Mercury is presented in the rich color combination of black with a black top and red vinyl interior; it is driven by a V-8 engine with a three-speed manual transmission. Among the features are a cabin heater, clock, radio, rear fender skirts, dual spotlights, foglights, power top, dual sideview mirrors, whitewall tires and attractive trim elements inside-and-out.
