In 1968 Chevrolet released the second generation of the Chevelle, which featuring a sportier fastback design. For 1970 the Chevelle received minor styling changes to the exterior and interior. The 1970 Chevelle convertible was one of the rarer Chevelle body styles with only 7,511 examples produced. Period advertising stated, “The performance starts as soon as you’re seated.” Second generation Chevelle production ran through 1972.
