The 1940 Buicks were introduced on September 22, 1939. The line offered six different series to choose from. This included the Buick Roadmaster 70 series which were offered in four body styles, rarest of which was the 1940 Buick Roadmaster Sport Phaeton of which only 235 examples were produced.

This beautiful 1940 Buick Roadmaster Sport Phaeton (Model: 71C | Style No: 40-4729) is presented in gray with a black convertible top with red piping. The car rides on wide whitewall tires with factory wheel covers. The interior is completed in red featuring and engine turned dash with radio. The car is powered by a 320-cid, 150-hp inline eight-cylinder engine which is paired to a three-speed manual transmission. This car is reported to be in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. All work performed on the car was completed by Lewis Jenkins of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. It’s quite possibly one of the finest 1940 Roadmaster Sport Phaetons, as evidenced by being a 2014 recipient of an AACA National First Place Senior Award.
