The first Thunderbird production car rolled off the line on September 9, 1954, and when enough cars were built, Ford introduced the car to the public on October 22. Dealers reportedly received 4,000 deposits, prompting the company to revise its sales estimates upward. Features that were available were power steering, brakes, windows and a four-way seat; as well as an available radio, heater, and choice of a three-speed manual or Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. This Ford is powered by the standard 292-cid V-8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. The Thunderbird is finished in black, with a white convertible top and a black removable hard top. The car is rolling on steel wheels with whitewall tires and fully polished wheel covers. The interior is tailored with two-tone black and white power seats, a radio, tachometer and clock. This Ford Thunderbird has had the same owner since 1984.
