In 1949, the main new feature that was prevalent on the Packard was the new powerful inline eight-cylinder engine, now boasting 130 horsepower. This new powerhouse combined with the smooth controlled ride from the engineered suspension made for a spectacular car. New styling ques were noted throughout the car and included a new grille and bumper; and bigger windows which enhanced visibility without sacrificing the classic styling. Standard features on these Packard’s included variable speed wipers, twin horns, dual sun visors, turn indicators, fender shields and a bumper jack.

This lovely Packard is finished elegantly with an off-white paint that is highlighted by chrome molding along the side of the car, chrome bumpers, polished hood ornament and a polished grill shell. Completing the classic style are wide whitewall tires, polished wheel covers and beauty rings. Under the hood of this Packard is a powerful straight eight-cylinder, carbureted engine. Transferring power to the rear wheels is a column-shift automatic-clutch transmission.
