The enthusiast that restored this truck found it in Colorado in 1982, after finding it on the side of the road in solid, but tired shape. He brought the truck to his home in Michigan where he and his son embarked on an extensive body-off restoration. The chassis was fully restored, the original 90 horsepower “24 stud” flathead V-8 was rebuilt, and the body was professionally prepped and painted in correct Ford Blue over Black fenders. In 1996, it finally emerged from the workshop in show condition. In the following years it won multiple awards, including a prestigious AACA Junior award at the Dearborn Centennial Meet.

Since the restoration, it has been lovingly maintained and still presents in excellent and highly correct condition. After approximately 20 years, the paint remains deep and glossy, a testament to the quality of the prep work. There are a few minor blemishes which can be expected with an older restoration; however it is still quite attractive overall. Panel fit is good and the body has been nicely accessorized with deluxe foglamps, deluxe headlight bezels, grille guard, whitewall tires and oak bed rails. The chromed bumpers, signature “waterfall” grille and brightwork are in very good condition, having been professionally replated during the restoration and well-cared-for since. The bench seat is upholstered in the correct green material, and a black dash, rubber mats and correct cab paneling complete the period look. Original instruments are supplemented with an auxiliary temperature gauge. This truck also has a period heater and add-on turn signals for additional safety.

The correct and original flathead V-8 was fully rebuilt as part of the restoration and is a strong runner today. It is tidy and correctly finished, showing some signs of moderate use. The chassis and undercarriage are well detailed and properly finished.
