The Plymouth Prowler was introduced in a form that combined the technology of tomorrow with today’s components utilized in the build of a classic hot rod type roadster design. Plymouth engineers targeted a goal of providing an affordable, durable and stylish machine that captured days of the past with the conveniences that are now expected for ease of travel. The Prowler being offered is truly set up for travel by being accompanied by a matching enclosed and aerodynamically efficient trailer.

Reported with 107 miles on the odometer since new, this Deep Candy Red Prowler is noted for being one of only 301 finished in this color in 2002 from the 1,436 built in 2002. The number of examples is quite limited with 11,702 total reported as built during its five-year production run. To top it off, the same sources indicate that only 1,367 owners took up the option to order the stylish trailer that goes along with this car. Period writings lamented that the option of a matching trailer would be a great option for many other cars of similar size and how wise Chrysler Corporation was to make it available. This type of car begs to be taken on an extended trip down memory lane and the trailer allows the stowage area to do just that.

Powered by a 3.5-liter, 253-hp V-6 engine that is matched with a four-speed automatic transmission; there is Agate leather trimmed interior and among the equipment is air conditioning, bright factory alloy wheels (matching on the trailer), cruise control, attractive white faced instruments including tach, power sport-type mirrors, AM/FM/CD with cassette; plus power steering, top, windows and four-wheel disc brakes. The term “factory hot rod” certainly seems most fitting for this limited offering.
