The Chrysler TC by Maserati was a three-year deal spearheaded by Lee Iacocca after favorable dealings with De Tomaso in the creation of the Pantera. Having sealed the deal with Maserati, a new badge was created, and exists only on the Chrysler TC by Maserati. Referred to as the Pentatrident, it is a combination of both Chrysler and Maserati’s logos. Iacocca described it as “the best-looking Italian to show up to America since my mother came over.”
This first year example is offered in Cabernet exterior with Bordeaux-colored Italian leather interior, a one-year-only combination. Powered by the 2.2-liter turbo four-cylinder mated to a three-speed automatic, this TC has been sparingly driven and has never been restored. The previous owner was a TC expert, owning six examples when he decided to part with his longest-held TC. It is believed that this Chrysler only has two previous owners. With only 7,300 sold between 1989 and 1991, it is rare to encounter one with such care.
