When the Studebaker Scotsman was originally sold it was a baseline model that combined both value and economy into one package. They were a simple car with few to no options. It was a “delete everything” automobile that did not even have carpet, just a rubber mat and vinyl door panels. The “Cyclops Eye” speedometer is considered the fanciest thing equipped from the factory.
This simple exterior has not been modified much from its original design, the grille is painted and the chrome bumpers keep in time with the way it was produced. This car is now equipped with adjustable air suspension that has to compressors and an air tank that is hidden beneath the trunk floor. The paint is now finished in black and is complimented by a comfortable beige interior. This custom car is now equipped with a 350-cid V-8 engine with 3 two-barrel carburetors, custom exhaust, an automatic transmission and power Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners.
